Check out Gotham Ducati, NYC's first and only official Desmo Owners Club

Third Annual Festival Fine Italian Cars Bikes and Food

Who would have thought my Ducati track bike would win an award from the Ferrari Car Club of America today?

Not me this morning when waking up to drive up to Poughkeepsie on this grey Sunday...
This was one of the first official Gotham Ducati club events that I posted to the site, but the day was pretty gloomy, but the cars were spectacular.
Though the day was a little grey and rainy, one other new club member Will showed up, who had just relocated from Wisconsin with his Panigale.
A few months back, a guy named Mike Searle had invited me to the Third Annual Festival of Fine Italian Cars, Bikes and Food at the Poughkeepsie Italian Center at 227 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
And upon arrival we were blown away by the rare and exquisite examples of Italian engineering design.
There was a stunning Lancia Fulvia and a bunch of antique Ferrarris, like this A31 from 1974.
and new Ferraris as well,
with matching Fiats.
My favorite car was the Euro-only (I think) 365 GT4 Berlinetta Boxer.
This machine was the predecessor to the famed Testarossa.
And its 12 cylinders made the beast purr angrily.
I was convinced to stay for lunch and enter the show,

even though I hadn't ridden in.

which was a pretty good thing as there were several prize categories for motorcycles.

Will ended up winning best in show (as he's the only one who really entered),

and I won the Peoples Choice Award for my track bike.
