NYST Pig Roast

Every year, New York Safety Track closes out the season with a famous Pig Roast, an upstate bacchanal to celebrate another season of riding motorcycles with the whole community.

The evening starts off with minibike races, gets absolutely wild with a roman candle battle and concludes with a whole roasted pig being carved up for the crew.
With planes flying overhead, it's truly a sight to behold, as many people come close to blowing fingers off, and shirtless men are scalded by fucking fireworks.
When the fireworks extravaganza is complete, the whole valley is mired in pyrotechnical aftermath of smoke and singed hair and skin.
Now I didn't even think I could make it up this year, but last minute Tommy called the owner Greg and got me in for the event.
So I drove up all the way to Safety Track for the night, and I'm glad I did.
The feast was ample,
the community was raucous and close,
and the overall event was pretty nuts.
Tommy, Web, Brian, Jason and several other friends have season passes next year,
so are going to be up here all the time.
I'll probably be doing wedding planning, but I'm going to try to sneak in a couple days.
Till then, I'll miss this place,
as I've had a lot of fun up here this year.
