COTA MotoGP Ducati Austin Party Day 1

Though I've been writing about motorcycles for nearly a decade, I've never actually been to MotoGP race in person.

So when my girlfriend agreed to go to Austin this spring, for a long weekend of grand prix motorcycle racing, I jumped at the chance.

The first event in Austin on the Thursday before the race is a blow out party located at Ducati Austin, the large dealer for the local area.

All the racers come out to sign autographs, but only a few people seemed to know who Kyle Wyman was (he races a Ducati Panigale V4R in Moto America) and I walked up to him and asked him some questions about my race bike.
You see, Kyle's main sponsor up until this year's Ducati factory support, was a company called Millenium Technologies, and whose owner had built my amazing track bike.  When Kyle not only knew the bike, but also complimented the machine, I was pretty impressed.

Jack Miller and Pecco Bagnaia of Pramac Ducati (which Lamborghini also sponsors) both drove in engines revving in brand new Avendators.
Dovi and Petrux signed autographs inside, but I hung out outside with the bikes, as I've never been much for lines.
When the racers left, people crowded around for shots and selfies.
I shouted out "Forza Dovi!" as the Italian racer walked by, and got a smile and a little thumbs up for my effort.

Petrucci was extremely gracious and stopped for pictures and to shake hands with everyone who wanted his attention.

Awesome party!!
