Storm King Mountain

Impromptu Run to the Storm King Highway

I haven't had much of a chance to ride with the DOCNYC (my Ducati motorcycle crew) this year, because of motorcycle mayhem and long trips.  But last night, I noticed a couple friends on a forum itching to ride today, and about ten of us showed up at Rockwell this morning.

We met a couple of serious *(well-seasoned) riders named Windy and Jose, and Windy offered to show us a few back roads.
We took off northward on 218, aptly named the Storm King Highway, which snakes through the Storm King State Park along the Hudson River. "Storm King Mountain" is probably the grandest, most masculine name for a geological formation, which fit the stunning scenery.
Unfortunately, one of our member's tail lights stopped working on her Monster. Driving without running lights, brake lights or turn signals is incredibly dangerous on a bike, so a bunch of us conducted an amateur electrical assessment at the peak of this incredible lookout.
