Offroad over Hawk Mountain to Tamaqua and Back

I woke up early this morning to an incredible day in Pennsylvania; eager to get out on the road. My ST3 has been out of commission for almost the entire time I've owned it, and apart from one big trip,  I haven't had much of a chance to ride.

I made up for it today though, with about 250 miles all over south and central, eastern PA.

I started off solo from my Grandmother's farm (pictured below are my sister and brother in law's hop garden, more information about which can be found here: http://frenchcreekorganics.com/)
Enjoying the stunning weather, I puttered around Oley, then over to Boyertown.
Then around lunchtime my buddy Alex called me up to see if I wanted to ride as well.  We met up south of Reading, and cruised up to Hawk Mountain (which sadly now charges for entry).  We snaked back down around Kempton on 895 and 443 near New Tripoli, Tamaqua and Pottsville, trying to trailblaze our own pass over the mountain, and we ended up taking a gravel road overpass.
We didn't stop, the views were incredible, though the steep  roads were washed out, and I almost lost my rear wheel a few times. (Alex's Cagiva Gran Canyon might be slightly better off road than my Monster).
Finally, we stopped off for milkshakes, at a strangely bustling and crowded venue with minigolf and fantastic milkshakes in the middle of rural nowhere called Heisler's Cloverleaf Dairy Bar.
