California Coast 2019 Day 2 Solvang Motorcycle Museum

California Coast 2019 Day 2

Today was and incredible... though loooooooong day on the road.  We launched from Pismo Beach, and made it not only to Los Angeles, but all the way to San Diego, stopping off at both Ducati Santa Barbara and Solvang Vintage Motorcycle Museum along the way.

California Coast 2019 Day 1

Dreamforce Ducati Multistrada in Salesforce Tower Lobby

The lobby of Salesforce Tower in San Francisco has a brand new Ducati Multistrada in the entrance,

with a very cool, interactive video talking about how Ducati motorcycles can be integrated with Ducati's website, and thus have ride information (laps, trips, lean angle) communicated back to Salesforce.
I've never actually seen this happen, but it's a cool idea.  Earlier in the day, I was invited up to the Ohana floor on the top of Salesforce Tower.
Floor to ceiling windows surround the floor, with sprawling views of San Francisco below.
It's an incredible view of the city.

My Top 15 Rides of All Time

This week has been rough- with Monday blowing sub-zero temperatures into New York City...to nearly 60 and pouring by Thursday.  I'm working on a pretty cool project with my Streetfighter... (more on that later- I'm dropping an 1198 engine in the bike to create a StreetfighterR), but I've been doing some clean up on the website, and it has made me a little sentimental for rides gone by.

So much of my identity has come from the rubber I've laid down on the road alone and with others,  to the point that most of my closest people are now largely in the motorcycle community.  I thought I'd take the weekend to reflect, listicle style- on some of my absolute favorite rides I've ever been blessed to take.  So with all of that said, here are my top 15 Ducati motorcycle trips I've ever ridden, in no particular order:

1. Museo Ducati in Borgo Panigale

I've actually gotten to visit the Ducati factory a couple times by now, but the Museo Ducati is absolutely essential to visit if you go to Bologna (or even anywhere in Northern Italy).

2. The Cabot Trail

Going on 5 years ago (and before I took videos apparently), my buddy Jay and I embarked on a 12 day, 2500 mile adventure up to Nova Scotia and around the Cabot Trail, lugging a case of beer and camping out at Meat Cove, at the northernmost tip of Cape Breton Island.  This trip was such a self-affirming journey, for the people that we met, and what I discovered about myself, and even moreso discovering what was out there available to me in the world.

Desmo Silicon Valley Ride to Alices Restaurant to Big Basin Redwoods State Park

Desmo Silicon Valley Bike Night in Saratoga California

I skipped out on Dreamforce a little early this year, to come down to Saratoga, California for my friend Patty's Desmo Silicon Valley Bike Night.

For reasons that haven't been resolved yet, I haven't posted about our ride to California to celebrate Jon's bachelor party.

West Coast Day 4 | Lost Coast and the South all along the California Sea

Today was one of the most magical roads I've ever ridden, traveling across the Lost Cost through Capetown to Petrolia, and then back through the fog, most of the way down Route 1, all the way back to Santa Rosa.

West Coast Day 3 | The Best Roads in Northern California

West Coast Day 2 | Ukiah to Eureka California

I got up early today a little miffed. My goal had been to get to central Oregon, and the lack of available hotels had pushed me back down south and inland several hours the night before.

West Coast Day 1 |Riding Out of Dreamforce on a Ducati

This morning, after speaking at Dreamforce, and meeting a truly staggering amount of people, I rented a Ducati Hypermotard to ride up the California coast. Many more pictures and video are forthcoming, but I have spotty wifi at the moment, and will add some pics as I can.
